The present invention relates to an electronic device and a method for wireless communication connection thereof. Specifically, a method for connecting an electronic device to an external device may comprise the steps of: searching for at least one external device connectable to an electronic device within a predetermined communication range by using first short-range communication; determining an operation period of a second short-range communication module for performing second short-range communication with the at least one external device on the basis of a search result for the at least one external device; activating the second short-range communication module according to the determined operation period and detecting contact of a user of the electronic device with respect to one from among the at least one external device by using the activated second short-range communication module; and receiving address information of the external device by performing the second short-range communication with the external device when the contact of the user is detected.
