Summary:A synthetic single-crystal diamond that contains nitrogen atoms at a concentration of more than 600 ppm but no more than 1,500 ppm. The Raman shift λ' (cm-1) of the peak in a primary Raman scattering spectrum for the synthetic single-crystal diamond and the Raman shift λ (cm-1) of the peak in a primary Raman scattering spectrum for a synthetic IIa-type single-crystal diamond that has a nitrogen atom content of no more than 1 ppm satisfy expression (1). Expression (1): λ'-λ≥-0.10. L'invention concerne un diamant monocristallin synthétique qui contient des atomes d'azote à une concentration supérieure à 600 ppm mais inférieure ou égale à 1 500 ppm. Le décalage Raman λ' (cm-1) du pic dans un spectre de diffusion Raman primaire du diamant monocristallin synthétique et le décalage Raman λ (cm-1) du pic dans un spectre de diffusion Raman primaire d'un diamant monocristallin de type IIa synthétique qui présente une teneur en atomes d'azote inférieure ou égale à 1 ppm satisfont à l'expression (1).
