A chromium-free passivator, an aluminum workpiece and a surface passivation process therefor. The chromium-free passivator is used for surface pretreatment of an aluminum workpiece and comprises the following components in parts by weight per 1000 parts by weight of the chromium-free passivator: 5-50 parts of ammonium hexafluorotitanate, 2-20 parts of malic acid, 2-10 parts of magnesium fluoride, 2-10 parts of alkenyltriacetoxysilane and the balance of water. The film formed by the above chromium-free passivator has good anti-corrosion properties and strong adhesion with a coating and can be used conveniently as a coating primer, which can be impregnated or sprayed on an aluminum workpiece. The passivator does not contain chromium ion and other heavy metal that will damage the environment, and therefore is an eco-friendly product complying with the EU RoHS directive.
