The invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising an effective quantity of an immunomodulating agent, such as a pentaborate compound and/or its pharmaceutically acceptable salts and/or hydrates and/or crystalline forms, for increasing the immune response of pre-activated cytotoxic T-lymphocytes CD8+, T-helper cells CD4+, and NK cells, in an unexpected manner, for the treatment of viral diseases (not including human immunodeficiency virus infection), bacterial diseases and protozoan diseases. The invention also promotes cell death induction of the body's own cells that are altered and/or stressed in a viral infection (not including human immunodeficiency virus infection), bacterial infection and protozoan infection, as a self-regulating mechanism. La presente invención se refiere a una composición farmacéutica que comprende una cantidad efectiva de un agente inmunomodulador tal como un compuesto de pentaborato y/o sus sales y/o sus hidratos y/o sus formas cristalinas farmacéuticamente aceptables para incrementar la respuesta inmune de manera inesperada de linfocitos T citotóxicos CD8+, linfocitos T cooperadores CD4+ y células NK previamente activadas, para el tratamiento de enfermedades virales (no comprende la infección por el virus de inmunodeficiencia humana), bacteriana y por protozoarios. La invención además favorece la inducción de muerte de células propias alteradas y/o estresadas presentes en una infección viral (no comprende la infección por el virus de inmunodeficiencia humana), bacteriana y por protozoario, como mecanismo de autorregulación. La présente invention se rapporte à une composition pharmaceutique qui comprend une quantité efficace d'un agent immunomodulateur tel qu'un composé de pentaborate et/ou ses sels et/ou ses hydrates et/ou des formes cristallines pharmaceutiquement acceptables pour augmenter la réponse immune de manière inespérée des lymphocytes T cytotoxiques CD8+, des lymphocytes T coopérants CD4+ et des cellules NK préalablement activées, pour le traitement de maladies virales (exceptée l'infection par le virus de l'immunodéficience humaine), bactériennes et dues à des protozoaires. Cette invention favorise également l'induction de la mort des cellules altérées et/stressées présentes dans une infection virale (exceptée l'infection par le virus de l'immunodéficience humaine), bactérienne ou due à des protozoaires, comme mécanisme d'autorégulation.
