Abstract The present invention belongs to the field of pharmaceutical synthesis, and relates to a preparation method for a substituted phenylacetic acid derivative, in particular to a method for preparing 2-[4-(2-oxopentylmethyl)phenylpropionic acid]. Said preparation method comprises a Friedel-Crafts reaction, and a cyclization reaction and a coupling reaction of which the sequence can be exchangeable, and a reduction reaction. The preparation method is neither taught in the prior art, nor can any technical motivation be obtained from the prior art. The preparation method is suitable for the production in commercial scale, and provides another technical solution for the industrial production of loxoprofen sodium.
