The tube (5) of a heat exchanger (1) is made from a strip of material (11), the strip of material (11) having two end parts joined together to form the tube (5). The strip of material (11) that forms the tube (5) is bent over on itself to define at least one fold (13) formed by two strip portions (13a, 13b) with continuity of material. At least one strip portion (13a, 13b) of the fold (13) is a protective strip portion (13a, 13b), protecting the tube (5) in the event of impact by an element external to the tube (5), and is made in an intermediate part (11b) of the strip of material (11). Le tube (5) d'échangeur thermique (1) est réalisé à partir d'une bande de matière (11), la bande de matière (11) présentant deux parties d'extrémité raccordées de façon à former le tube (5). La bande de matière (11) formant le tube (5) est pliée sur elle-même, de façon à définir au moins un pli (13) formé par deux portions de bande (13a, 13b) en continuité de matière. Au moins une portion de bande (13a, 13b) du pli (13) est une portion de bande de protection (13a, 13b) du tube (5) en cas d'impact d'un élément extérieur au tube (5), et est réalisée dans une partie intermédiaire (11b) de la bande de matière (11).
