L'invention concerne une céramique transparente de type grenat paramagnétique, caractérisée en ce qu'elle est un corps fritté d'un oxyde composite contenant du terbium représenté par la formule (1), la transmittance linéaire à une longueur d'onde de 1064 nm sur une longueur de trajet optique de 15 mm étant supérieure ou égale à 83 %. (Tb1-x-yScxCey)3(Al1-zScz)5O12 (1) (Dans la formule, 0 < x < 0,08, 0 ≤ y ≤ 0,01, 0,004 < z < 0,16.)
