The object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a cis,cis-1,2,4-cyclohexane tricarboxylic acid crystal, wherein a high purity cis,cis-1,2,4-cyclohexane tricarboxylic acid crystal is obtained. This method for producing a cis,cis-1,2,4-cyclohexane tricarboxylic acid crystal comprises the following steps: step 1, a step for measuring the mass ratio (cis/trans ratio) of cis,cis-1,2,4-cyclohexane tricarboxylic acid to trans,trans-1,2,4-cyclohexane tricarboxylic acid in a raw aqueous solution containing the cis,cis-1,2,4-cyclohexane tricarboxylic acid to obtain a crystallization aqueous solution having a cis/trans ratio of at least 10; and step 2, a step for crystallizing the crystallization aqueous solution obtained from step 1.
