The present invention relates to a method for isolating Glu-plasminogen, said method comprising the anion exchange chromatography of blood plasma or a plasma fraction comprising Glu-plasminogen. Furthermore, the present invention relates to Glu-plasminogen obtainable from the method of the present invention and its use in a method for treating a patient suffering from or being at risk of developing a disorder selected from the group consisting of organ failure, a thrombotic event, arterial obstructive disease, microcirculation, disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), and a combination of two or more thereof. La présente invention concerne un procédé d'isolement de Glu-plasminogène, ledit procédé comprenant la chromatographie par échange d'anions de plasma sanguin ou d'une fraction de plasma comprenant du Glu-plasminogène. En outre, la présente invention concerne du Glu-plasminogène pouvant être obtenu à partir du procédé de la présente invention et son utilisation dans un procédé de traitement d'un patient souffrant ou présentant un risque de développer un trouble sélectionné dans le groupe constitué d'une défaillance viscérale, d'un événement thrombotique, d'une maladie obstructive artérielle, d'une microcirculation, d'une coagulation intravasculaire disséminée (DIC), et d'une combinaison de deux ou plus de deux de ceux-ci.
