The device includes a silicone housing that mates circumferentially over existing endoscopic light cables and a thermal insulator can be positioned over the light emitting tip of the cable. Un dispositif médical réduit le risque d'incendies dans une salle d'opération provoquées par des sources de lumière en empêchant le câble de lumière allumé d'interagir directement avec les draps chirurgicaux ou la peau d'un patient. Le dispositif comprend un boîtier en silicone qui s'accouple de manière circonférentielle sur des câbles endoscopiques de lumière existants et un isolant thermique peut être positionné sur la pointe électroluminescente du câble.
