Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method of inspecting the freshness of a fish, and to a device therefor. According to one aspect of the present invention, a method of inspecting the freshness of a fish including the steps of: illuminating with light, a target fish for inspection; capturing a light reflection intensity (LRI) image of the target fish for inspection; extracting an eye region image of the target fish for inspection; and determining the freshness of the target fish for inspection on the basis of the index of LRI level of the eye region image, may be provided.
