Provided are a file transmission method and apparatus. The method can comprise: receiving a file sending request initiated by a source user with regard to a pre-set file; when the source user does not have a right to transmit the pre-set file, sending an approval message with regard to the file sending request to an approval user corresponding to the source user; and when the approval message is approved by the approval user, with regard to a target user corresponding to the file sending request, configuring the pre-set file to be in an acquirable state.
