Summary:The invention relates to a household appliance 1 with at least one self-cleaning catalytically active surface 17 containing a polyoxometalate, wherein the surface contains a polymeric organic or inorganic binder which is selected from among acrylate-based binders, polyurethane-based binders and silicone-based binders and that the polyoxometalate has the Formula (I) or (II), A3PZ4O24 (I), Aq+3PVqZ2-qO40 (II) wherein Z is selected from Mo oder W, q is 0, 1, 2 or 3, and A is selected from one or more cations selected from the group consisting of (XR1R2R3R4)+, wherein at least one of the groups R1, R2, R3, and R4 is a substituted or 1 nonsubstituted alkyl, alkyloxoalkyl or cycloalkyl group that may contain at least one heteroatom selected among O, S, N or P, with at least five carbon atoms and wherein X is selected from among nitrogen or phosphorus. L'invention concerne un appareil électroménager 1 comprenant au moins une surface catalytiquement active autonettoyante 17 contenant un polyoxométalate, la surface contenant un liant organique ou inorganique polymère qui est choisi parmi les liants à base d'acrylate, les liants à base de polyuréthane et les liants à base de silicone et que le polyoxométalate a la formule (I) or (II), A3PZ4O24 (I), Aq+3PVqZ2-qO40 (II) Z étant choisi parmi Mo ou W, q valant 0, 1, 2 ou 3, et A est choisi parmi un ou plusieurs cations choisis dans le groupe constitué par (XR1R2R3R4)+, où au moins l'un des groupes R1, R2, R3, et R4 est un alkyle substitué ou non substitué, groupe alkyloxoalkyl ou cycloalkyle qui peut contenir au moins un hétéroatome choisi parmi O, S, N ou P, avec au moins cinq atomes de carbone et X étant choisi parmi l'azote ou le phosphore.
