Summary:The invention relates to a method for impregnating a fibrous preform (10) by means of injection or infusion, comprising the steps of: - providing a mould (12) that has at least two parts (12A, 12B), said mould (12) having an inlet opening (14) and a vent opening (16) each arranged on opposite sides (13A, 13B) of the mould (12), - placing a fibrous preform (10) in one part (12A) of the mould, - placing a thermoexpandable seal (24, 26) in a passage (20, 22) arranged between an inner wall of the mould (12) and said fibrous preform (10), wherein said passage (20, 22) extends substantially in the direction (X) extending between the opposite sides (13A, 13B) of the mould (12), - closing the mould (12), - heating the mould (12) such that the thermoexpandable seal (24, 26) dilates and blocks the passage (20, 22), and - impregnating the fibrous preform (10) with an impregnation material (28). Procédé d'imprégnation d'une préforme fibreuse (10) par injection ou infusion, comprenant les étapes de : - fournir un moule (12) comprenant au moins deux parties (12A, 12B), ledit moule (12) présentant un orifice d'entrée (14) et un orifice d'évent (16) disposés sur des côtés opposés (13A, 13B) du moule (12), - disposer une préforme fibreuse (10) dans une partie (12A) du moule, - disposer un joint thermo-expansible (24, 26) dans un passage (20, 22) ménagé entre une paroi interne du moule (12) et la préforme fibreuse (10), ledit passage (20, 22) s'étendant sensiblement selon la direction (X) s'étendant entre les côtés opposés (13A, 13B) du moule (12), - fermer le moule (12), - chauffer le moule (12) de sorte que le joint thermo-expansible (24, 26) se dilate et obture ledit passage (20, 22), et - imprégner la préforme fibreuse (10) avec un matériau d'imprégnation (28).
