A second side block (3a) of a compression mechanism (3) is disposed to the outside of a compressor housing (13) housing a cylinder block (3c) and a first side block (3b) of the compression mechanism (3). The second side block (3a) seals an opening (13b) in the compressor housing (13) and an opening (11e) in a motor housing (11a). A pair of surfaces (3a1, 3a2) facing the second side block (3a) come into contact with a motor case (11), in which a stator (5c) of an electric motor (5) is fixed to the motor housing (11a), and the compressor housing (13), respectively. The second side block (3a) and the motor case (11) are connected and affixed to each other, and the second side block (3a) and the compressor housing (13) are connected and affixed to each other. Selon l'invention, un second bloc latéral (3a) d'un mécanisme de compression (3) est disposé à l'extérieur d'un carter de compresseur (13) logeant un bloc-cylindres (3c) et un premier bloc latéral (3b) du mécanisme de compression (3). Le second bloc latéral (3a) assure l'étanchéité d'une ouverture (13b) dans le carter de compresseur (13) et d'une ouverture (11e) dans un logement de moteur (11a). Une paire de surfaces (3a1, 3a2) faisant face au second bloc latéral (3a) viennent en contact avec un carter de moteur (11), dans lequel un stator (5c) d'un moteur électrique (5) est fixé au logement de moteur (11a) et au carter de compresseur (13), respectivement.
