The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of pyrvinium pamoate, which comprises reacting pyrvinium methyl sulphate salt of formula (II) with disodium pamoate of formula (III), in the presence of a base; to processes for the preparation of crystalline Form A and crystalline Form III of pyrvinium pamoate; as well as a process for the purification of crystalline Form III. It also relates to crystalline Forms A and III of pyrvinium pamoate and to pharmaceutical compositions containing them. L'invention concerne : un procédé de préparation de pamoate de pyrvinium et de formes cristallines de celui-ci, lequel procédé de préparation de pamoate de pyrvinium comprend l'étape consistant à faire réagir un sel de méthylsulfate de pyrvinium de formule (II) avec du pamoate disodique de formule (III), en présence d'une base; des procédés de préparation d'une forme A cristalline et d'une forme III cristalline de pamoate de pyrvinium; ainsi qu'un procédé de purification de la forme III cristalline. L'invention concerne aussi des formes A et III cristallines de pamoate de pyrvinium ainsi que des compositions pharmaceutiques les contenant.
