In order to provide a device for processing a valuable medium that can be used easily in various use modes such as use by one person, use by multiple people, and the like, this device for processing a valuable medium is configured from: an operation display unit that receives an operation instruction accompanying processing of a valuable medium and that is supported such that is it possible to change the orientation thereof between a horizontal state in which a screen is lowered so as to be approximately horizontal and a state in which the screen is upright; and a main body unit that is installed so as to be lower than the operation display unit when said operation display unit is in the horizontal state and that processes the valuable medium on the basis of an instruction operation received by the operation display unit.
