Provided are a method and device for collective playback of high-fidelity (hi-fi) sound by several players, which relate to the technical field of multimedia and solve the technical problem in the prior art of it being impossible for a plurality of music formats to be played simultaneously with hi-fi music. The method comprises: receiving first sound data in a hi-fi audio format and second sound data in a second audio format, said second audio format being an audio format that is not said hi-fi; transmitting said first sound data in said hi-fi audio format to a first processor for decoding, and after decoding the second audio data in the second audio format, converting it to second audio data in pulse-code modulation (PCM) format; controlling the first processor to convert the second sound data in the PCM format to second sound data in the hi-fi audio format; mixing the first sound data in the hi-fi format with the second sound data, then playing.
