A roving frame (1) has a control head (80) comprising electric actuators (122) for the main electric motors (32, 46, 45, 44, 182, 184, 64, 66) contained in a main compartment (120) accessible from the rear of the head (80). The head further provides for secondary electrical components (152) contained in a secondary compartment (150) accessible from the front of the head (80). The roving frame is thus particularly compact and can have other frames juxtaposed longitudinally to it occupying a limited area.
