Disclosed are a mobile terminal and a payment method in an image display apparatus using the same. An embodiment of the present invention comprises: a wireless communication unit configured to enable a mobile terminal body to communicate wirelessly with an image display apparatus; a control unit for receiving, from an image display apparatus connected, information corresponding to a payment request, if a first input related to the payment request is sensed in the image display apparatus; and a display unit in which information corresponding to the received payment request is outputted. Furthermore, the control unit detects one or more payment means information stored in the mobile terminal, if a second input to process information outputted on the display unit is applied, and transmits the detected payment means information to the image display apparatus.
