La présente invention concerne des procédés de production de composés d'esters d'acide halométhylfuroïque et acyloxyméthylfuroïque à partir de composés de départ de furfural. Par exemple, l'acide 5-chlorométhyl-2-furoïque peut être obtenu à partir de 5-chlorométhylfurfural, en présence de divers antioxydants. Des sels d'acides furoïque peuvent également être produits.
