For example, this invention provides purified endophytes, synthetic combinations comprising endophytes, and methods of making and using the same. In particular, this invention relates to compositions and methods of improving soybean and maize plants. La présente invention concerne des procédés et des compositions permettant d'apporter un bénéfice à une plante en associant ladite plante à un endophyte bénéfique du genre Pénicillium, y compris des bénéfices à une plante dérivée d'une graine ou d'un autre élément de la plante traité avec ledit endophyte. Par exemple, la présente invention concerne des endophytes purifiés, des combinaisons synthétiques comprenant des endophytes, et leurs procédés de fabrication et d'utilisation.
