The purpose of the present invention is to prevent a breakage in an optical module because of the space between a housing-side metal holder and a connector-side metal holder by increasing the strength thereof. The present invention provides an optical module provided with a metal housing incorporating a photoelectric transducer, and an optical receptacle, wherein the optical receptacle includes: a fiber stub; a housing-side metal holder attached to the metal housing and holding the fiber stub; a connector-side metal holder into which the fiber stub is inserted and which holds the fiber stub so as to form a space preventing the connector-side metal holder from coming in contact with the housing-side metal holder; and an insulating part formed to fill the space with an insulating material.
