Summary:The present invention relates to a composition, containing a Lithospermi Radix extract as an active ingredient, for preventing, alleviating, or treating peripheral neuropathy, especially, chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). Specifically, it was verified that the Lithospermi Radix extract of the present invention causes no toxicity in normal cells, does not influence an intrinsic cytotoxic effect of an anticancer drug in a human cancer cell line, mitigates the inhibition of neurite growth due to an anticancer drug, and effectively reduces the sensitivity to increased pain stimulation in a chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy animal model, and thus the Lithospermi Radix extract can be favorably used as an active ingredient of the composition for preventing, alleviating, or treating chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. La présente invention concerne une composition, contenant un extrait de Lithospermi Radix en tant que principe actif, pour prévenir, soulager, ou traiter la neuropathie périphérique, en particulier la neuropathie périphérique induite par chimiothérapie (CIPN). Spécifiquement, il a été vérifié que l'extrait de Lithospermi Radix selon la présente invention ne provoquait pas de toxicité dans des cellules normales, n'influençait pas un effet cytotoxique intrinsèque d'un médicament anticancéreux dans une lignée de cellules cancéreuses humaines, atténuait l'inhibition de la croissance des neurites due à un médicament anticancéreux, et réduisait efficacement la sensibilité à une stimulation à la douleur accrue dans un modèle animal de neuropathie périphérique induite par chimiothérapie et, par conséquent, l'extrait de Lithospermi Radix peut être avantageusement utilisé en tant que principe actif de la composition pour prévenir, soulager, ou traiter la neuropathie périphérique induite par chimiothérapie. 본 발명은 자근(Lithospermi Radix) 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 말초신경병증(peripheral neuropathy), 특히 항암제로 유발된 말초신경병증(chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, CIPN) 예방, 개선 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로 본 발명의 자근 추출물은 정상세포에 독성을 유발하지 않고, 인간 암세포주에서 항암제의 고유한 세포독성 효력에 영향을 주지 않으면서 동시에, 항암제에 의한 신경돌기 성장 억제를 완화하며, 항암제로 유발된 말초신경병증 동물모델에서 증가된 통증 자극에 대한 민감도를 효과적으로 감소시키는 것을 확인함으로써, 상기 자근 추출물은 항암제로 유발된 말초신경병증 예방, 개선 또는 치료용 조성물의 유효성분으로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
