An apparatus for monitoring the condition of one or more joints each formed between two adjacent flanges, the apparatus comprising one or more gasket bodies formed of a deformable material for positioning between adjacent flanges, and a transmission line for positioning between adjacent flanges and in contact with at least one of the one or more gasket bodies. The apparatus further comprising means for determining changes in the characteristic impedance along the transmission line, where a change of characteristic impedance is indicative of a deformation of the one or more gasket bodies and the condition of the one or more joints. L'invention concerne un dispositif pour contrôler l'état d'un ou de plusieurs raccord(s) formé(s) chacun entre deux brides adjacentes, lequel dispositif comprend un ou plusieurs corps de joint d'étanchéité constitués par un matériau déformable en vue d'un positionnement entre des brides adjacentes, et une ligne de transmission destinée à être positionnée entre les brides adjacentes et en contact avec au moins l'un desdits corps de joint d'étanchéité. Le dispositif comprend en outre des moyens pour déterminer des changements de l'impédance caractéristique le long de la ligne de transmission, un changement de l'impédance caractéristique reflétant une déformation du ou des corps de joint d'étanchéité et l'état du ou des raccord(s).
