Provided is an insect repellent that is highly safe and has excellent repellency. An insect repellent containing, as an active ingredient, at least one compound selected from octahydro-7-methyl-1,4-methanonaphthalen-6(2H)-one, 3-methyl-5-propyl-2-cyclohexen-1-one, octahydro-5-methoxy-4,7-methano-1H-indene-2-carboxaldehyde, 6-methylquinoline, phenoxyacetaldehyde, γ-octalactone, 9-ethylidene-3-oxatricyclo(6.2.1.02,7)undecan-4-one, 2,3,3-trimethyl-2H-indene-1-one, 4-methyl-5-thiazole ethanol, 7-methoxy-3,7-dimethyloctanal, 3-methyl-1-phenyl-3-pentanol, 2-phenylpropionaldehyde dimethylacetal, octahydro-2H-1-benzopyran-2-one, and 2,6,6-trimethylcyclohexa-1,3-diene-1-carbaldehyde. L'invention concerne un insectifuge qui est très sûr et présente d'excellentes propriétés répulsives.
