This relative strength is used to set the transmit power. The transmit power may be set following ALARA while providing enough information for harmonic imaging. Cette invention concerne l'imagerie médicale diagnostique par ultrasons et plus particulièrement la détermination de la puissance d'émission de manière adaptative. La force relative, tel que le rapport, des réponses harmoniques et fondamentales est calculée. Cette force relative est utilisée pour fixer la puissance d'émission. La puissance d'émission peut être fixée aussi bas que raisonnablement possible tout en fournissant suffisamment d'informations pour l'imagerie harmonique.
