The invention relates to a drug delivery device having a drive unit (5), comprising : - a stator (7) comprising a plurality of coils (12) consecutively arranged in an axial direction, - an armature (8) axially movable within the stator (7), the armature (8) comprising a number of magnets (14) and pole shoes (15) consecutively arranged in the axial direction, wherein a respective pole shoe (15) is arranged between respectively neighbouring magnets (14), wherein at least one axial end of the armature (8) comprises a terminal pole shoe (16). La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'administration de médicament comportant une unité d'entraînement (5), comprenant : - un stator (7) comprenant une pluralité de bobines (12) agencées consécutivement dans une direction axiale, - une armature (8) est axialement déplaçable à l'intérieur du stator (7), l'armature (8) comprenant une pluralité d'aimants (14) et d'épanouissements polaires (15) agencés consécutivement dans la direction axiale, un épanouissement polaire (15) respectif étant agencé entre des aimants (14) respectivement voisins, au moins une extrémité axiale de l'armature (8) comprenant un épanouissement polaire terminal (16).
