An electric compressor to be mounted on a vehicle is provided with: a motor; a compression part driven by the motor; an inverter part for driving the motor; a housing for accommodating the motor, the compression part, and the inverter part; and a cover attached to the housing and covering a space accommodating the inverter part. This electric compressor is fixed to a vehicle through a first attachment leg part provided to the housing and a second attachment leg part provided to the cover. The second attachment leg part is provided with a stress concentration part on which more stress is concentrated than on other portions when the vehicle is subjected to a great shock and a great inertial force is thereby applied to the electric compressor. Ce compresseur électrique est fixé sur un véhicule par l'intermédiaire d'une première partie formant patte de fixation mise en œuvre sur le carter et d'une deuxième partie formant patte de fixation mise en œuvre sur le couvercle.
