L'invention concerne un procédé consistant à (i) fournir un halogénure d'acide 2-fluoropropionique; (ii) à hydrogéner l'halogénure d'acide 2-fluoropropionique en le mettant en contact avec un catalyseur d'hydrogénation hétérogène dans une atmosphère comprenant de l'hydrogène, ce qui permet d'obtenir un mélange comprenant de l'aldéhyde 2-fluoropropionique.
