An image processing device comprises: an image acquisition unit (102) which acquires image data; a photographic information acquisition unit (106) which acquires photographic information relating to the image data; a scene/subject assessment unit (108) which assesses a photographic scene or subject in the image data on the basis of the photographic information; an assist information search unit (110) which searches for and retrieves lens-related assist information corresponding to the result of the assessment of the photographic scene or subject; and a display unit (114) which displays the retrieved assist information.
