An apparatus (2) for conveying food slices, the apparatus (2) comprising a conveyor element (16) having an upper conveying surface (22), the conveying surface (22) being downwardly inclined from an input end (18) thereof towards an output end (20) thereof, a vibratory actuator (16) coupled to the conveyor element (16) and adapted to cause vibratory motion of the conveying surface (22), the vibratory motion being at least partly in a direction along the conveying surface (22), and a liquid supply (28) for supplying liquid onto the conveying surface (22) to form a liquid film over at least part of the conveying surface (22).
