Summary:This invention provides a housing and a display device that allow a narrower-bezel design without the use of screws. Said housing comprises: a front cabinet provided around a given contained object (3); and a rear cabinet that covers the rear surface of said contained object. Said housing also has: a rib (51) that is formed on the rear cabinet and extends so as to end up on the inside wall (40) of the front cabinet; a prong (53) that is formed inwards of said rib on the inside wall (50) of the rear cabinet; and a rib-accommodating part (41) that is formed on the inside wall of the front cabinet and accommodates the aforementioned rib. The rib-accommodating part is supported by being sandwiched between the rib and the prong.
