L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'un polymère à base d'huile végétale, qui consiste à chauffer une huile végétale en présence d'un agent de réticulation bismaléimide, en l'absence sensible de solvant, à une température supérieure ou égale à la température de fusion de l'agent de réticulation bismaléimide, ledit agent de réticulation bismaléimide étant défini par la formule (I), dans laquelle R1 représente un groupe organique divalent.
