Summary:Disclosed herein are new mixed metal oxide catalysts suitable as heterogeneous catalysts for catalyzing the transesterification process of aromatic alcohols with a dialkyl carbonate to form aromatic carbonates. The heterogeneous catalyst comprises a combination of two, three, four, or more oxides of Mo, V, Nb, Ce, Cu, Sn, or an element selected from Group IA or Group IIA of the periodic table. La présente invention concerne de nouveaux catalyseurs à oxydes métalliques mixtes appropriés en tant que catalyseurs hétérogènes destinés à catalyser le processus de transestérification d'alcools aromatiques à l'aide d'un carbonate de dialkyle en vue de former des carbonates aromatiques. Le catalyseur hétérogène comprend une combinaison de deux, trois, quatre oxydes ou plus de Mo, V, Nb, Ce, Cu, Sn, ou un élément choisi dans le groupe IA ou dans le groupe IIA du tableau périodique.
