This power generating apparatus is provided with: a supporting plate; a piezoelectric element that is provided on the supporting plate; and an operating body configured to warp the supporting plate. The operating body is configured such that the supporting plate is warped by rotating while being in contact with the supporting plate, and the supporting plate is vibrated by separating from the supporting plate in a state wherein the supporting plate is warped. The power generating apparatus has a reduced thickness.
