Various methods and devices for providing transdermal electrical stimulation therapy to a patient are provided. In certain variations, a method may include positioning a stimulator electrode over a glabrous skin surface overlying a target nerve of a subject. Electrical stimulation may be delivered through or across the glabrous skin surface to the target nerve to stimulate the target nerve, while remaining safe and tolerable to the patient. Electrical stimulation may be delivered at frequencies that may be painful or intolerable when applied over non-glabrous surfaces of the body. Various applicators or devices for providing transdermal electrical stimulation therapy are also provided. La présente invention concerne différents procédés et dispositifs destinés à procurer une thérapie par stimulation électrique transdermique à un patient. Selon certaines variantes, un procédé peut consister à positionner une électrode stimulatrice sur une surface de peau glabre recouvrant un nerf cible d'une personne. Une stimulation électrique peut être administrée à travers ou sur la surface de peau glabre jusqu'au nerf cible afin de stimule le nerf cible, tout en restant sûre et tolérable pour le patient. Une stimulation électrique peut être administrée à des fréquences qui peuvent être douloureuses ou intolérables lorsqu'elle est appliquée sur des surfaces non glabres du corps. L'invention se rapporte aussi à différentes applications ou différents dispositifs pour fournir une thérapie par stimulation électrique transdermique.
