Method for manufacturing a fuel tank on the basis of thermoplastic material, comprising the following steps: * producing semifinished products (3) in sheet form from a fibre composite material with a matrix of thermoplastic material, * laminating the semifinished products (3) with a laminate (4) that comprises at least one barrier layer (7) for hydrocarbons, * heat-treating the laminated semifinished products (3+4) until the thermoplastic material plasticizes, * thermoforming the plasticized semifinished products in a thermoforming mould to form shells (1, 2) and * joining the shells (1, 2) to form an essentially closed tank. L'invention porte sur un procédé de fabrication d'un réservoir de carburant à base de matière thermoplastique, qui comprend les étapes suivantes : * la production de produits semi-finis (3), sous la forme de feuilles, à partir d'une matière composite fibreuse comprenant une matrice de matière thermoplastique, * la stratification desdits produits semi-finis (3) avec un stratifié (4) qui comprend au moins une couche barrière (7) pour les hydrocarbures, * la soumission des produits semi-finis stratifiés (3+4) à un traitement thermique jusqu'à ce que la matière thermoplastique devienne plastique, * le thermoformage des produits semi-finis plastifiés dans un moule de thermoformage pour former des coques (1, 2) et * la réunion des coques (1, 2) pour former un réservoir essentiellement fermé.
