A method for controlling a blocking component for a latch of a closure panel of a vehicle, the latch having latch components including a ratchet and pawl, the method comprising: determining whether an occupant is in the vehicle and whether a speed of the vehicle is above a first threshold; and blocking release of the latch by positioning the blocking component whenever the occupant is in the vehicle and the speed is above the first threshold, automatically without occupant intervention, into a blocking position adjacent to at least one of the latch components to restrict movement of the at least one of the latch components which movement would cause the latch to open, wherein the blocking position is adjacent either the ratchet or the pawl, and restricts movement of the ratchet or pawl, respectively. L'invention concerne un procédé pour commander un composant de blocage pour un verrou d'un panneau de fermeture d'un véhicule, le verrou possédant des composants de verrou comprenant un rochet et un cliquet, le procédé comprenant les étapes suivantes : déterminer si un occupant se trouve dans le véhicule et si la vitesse du véhicule se trouve au-dessus d'un premier seuil ; et bloquer la libération du verrou par positionnement du composant de blocage chaque fois que l'occupant se trouve dans le véhicule et que la vitesse est au-dessus du premier seuil, automatiquement et sans intervention de l'occupant, dans une position de blocage adjacente à au moins un des composants de verrou pour limiter le mouvement de l'au moins un des composants de verrou, lequel mouvement causerait l'ouverture du verrou, la position de blocage étant adjacente ou au rochet ou au cliquet, et limitant respectivement le mouvement du rochet ou du cliquet.
