The present invention relates to a method for automatically calculating calories by using food photographs, and an eating habit management system using the same. Since the type and amount of food are estimated using image characteristics with respect to the color, shape and texture of food photographs, and calories are automatically calculated using the estimated type and amount of food, and it is unnecessary to manually input the type and amount of food by a use, thereby providing convenience. In addition, since intaken calories are calculated in real time when photographs are web or app-based uploaded by a user, and the eating habits consultation suitable for respective user is provided on the basis of the calculated calories, thereby providing great usefulness.
