Summary:The invention disclosed herein is directed to compounds of Formula I [Formula should be inserted here] and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, which are useful in the treatment of prostate, breast, colon, pancreatic, human chronic lymphocytic leukemia, melanoma and other cancers. The invention also comprises pharmaceutical compositions comprising a therapeutically effective amount of compound of Formula I, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The invention disclosed herein is also directed to methods of treating prostate, breast, ovarian, liver, kidney, colon, pancreatic, human chronic lymphocytic leukemia, melanoma and other cancers. The invention disclosed herein is further directed to methods of treating prostate, breast, colon, pancreatic, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, melanoma and other cancers comprising administration of a therapeutically effective amount of a selective PPARa antagonist. The compounds and pharmaceutical compositions of the invention are also useful in the treatment of viral infections, such as HCV infections and HIV infections. L'invention concerne également les compositions pharmaceutiques comprenant une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace du composé de Formule I, ou d'un sel pharmaceutiquement acceptable de celui-ci. Des méthodes destinées à traiter le cancer de la prostate, du sein, de l'ovaire, du foie, du rein, du côlon, du pancréas, la leucémie lymphocytaire chronique humaine, le mélanome et autres cancers, lesdites méthodes comprenant l'administration d'une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace d'un antagoniste sélectif des PPARa sont en outre décrites. Les composés et les compositions selon l'invention sont également utiles pour traiter les infections virales, telles que les infections par le VHC et les infections par le VIH.
