Summary:A steel bead core for pneumatic tires, comprises at least one metal wire having a cross section of a quadrilateral with two parallel opposite faces, the at least one wire forming adjoining multiple windings through the bead core, the adjoining windings making metal-to-metal contact with each other along their facing surfaces, wherein the edges at the four corners of the bead core are round. The steel bead core has stable profile, and limits the fretting between carcass ply and bead. La présente invention concerne une tringle en acier pour un pneu comprenant au moins un câble en métal pourvu d'une section transversale d'un quadrilatère avec deux côtés opposés parallèles, l'au moins un câble formant des enroulements multiples joints les uns aux autres à travers le trou du talon ; les enroulements joints les uns aux autres rentrant en contact métal contre métal le long de leurs surfaces frontales, les bords aux quatre coins du trou du talon étant arrondis. La tringle en acier a un profil stable et limite l'usure de contact entre le pli de la carcasse et le talon.
