Summary:The present invention provides new polypeptides with improved antimicrobial activity, wherein said polypeptides are derived from functional cathelicidin fragments. The invention further provides compositions comprising these polypeptides. The polypeptides of the present invention are useful as antibacterial agents, antiviral agents, and/or antifungal agents useful for preventing, inhibiting or treating microbial contamination or infection. La présente invention concerne de nouveaux polypeptides présentant une activité antimicrobienne améliorée, lesdits polypeptides étant dérivés de fragments de cathélicidine fonctionnelle. L'invention concerne en outre des compositions comprenant ces polypeptides. Les polypeptides de la présente invention sont utiles en tant qu'agents antibactériens, agents antiviraux et/ou agents antifongiques utiles pour prévenir, inhiber ou traiter une infection ou une contamination microbienne.
