The present invention provides a base makeup cosmetic comprising a lithol rubin BCA-containing red pigment and titanium oxide particles having an average grain size of 0.5 to 5 µm, whereby unnatural whiteness is controlled and an excellent transparent finish can be obtained. That is, this base makeup cosmetic can improve the scattering of light within a wavelength region of 600 nm to 700 nm (red light) and reduce the loss of red light. Therefore, when this base makeup cosmetic is applied to the skin, red light is sufficiently diffused to near the surface of the skin over the entire application region and an excellent transparent finish can be obtained. Furthermore, because this base makeup cosmetic can control the scattering of light within a wavelength region of approximately 500 nm (blue light to green light), which is a cause of unnatural whiteness, unnatural whiteness is effectively controlled by applying this base makeup cosmetic to the skin.
