A surface active compound is supplied into contact with an oilfield production fluid that comprises a mixture of water and oil including water soluble organics. The surface active compound comprises at least one alkoxylate chain and at least one end group attached to each of the at least one alkoxylate chain. The surface active compound is supplied into the oilfield production fluid at a dosage rate that is effective to self-associate at interfaces between the water and oil and inhibit the water soluble organics in the oil from entering the water when the oilfield production fluid is depressurized. Cette invention concerne un composé tensioactif qui est amené au contact d'un fluide de production de gisement de pétrole qui comprend un mélange d'eau et d'huile contenant des substances organiques hydrosolubles. Le composé tensioactif comprend au moins une chaîne alcoxylate et au moins un groupe terminal lié à ladite ou auxdites chaînes alcoxylate. Le composé tensioactif est introduit dans le fluide de production de gisement de pétrole à un débit de dose efficace pour s'auto-associer aux interfaces entre l'eau et l'huile et empêcher les substances organiques hydrosolubles contenues dans l'huile de pénétrer dans l'eau quand le fluide de production de gisement de pétrole est mis hors pression.
