Selon l'invention, le fonctionnement d'un système de compression de vapeur de réfrigérant transcritique pour fournir de l'air conditionné en température à un espace régulé en température est commandé lors de l'élévation d'étage ou de l'abaissement d'étage de façon à éviter un pic supérieur et un pic inférieur indésirables de la bande de température étroite délimitant le point de consigne de température de commande pour la température à l'intérieur de l'espace régulé en température.
