The invention is directed to water-based coating compositions comprising: A) at least one cross-linkable water-reducible binder having acid functional groups and functional groups with active hydrogen, B) at least one polyisocyanate cross-linking agent with free isocyanate groups, C) water and optionally at least one organic solvent, wherein the acid functional groups of the at least one water-reducible binder A) are at least partly neutralized with at least one neutralizing agent, said neutralizing agent comprising a monoamine having a secondary amino group attached to a tertiary carbon atom, wherein said monoamine is preferably a reaction product of at least one monoamine having a primary amino group attached to a tertiary carbon atom and a mono-epoxide, or a reaction product of at least one monoamine having a primary amino group attached to a tertiary carbon atom and a mono-unsaturated compound. Cette invention concerne des compositions de revêtement à base hydrique comprenant : A) au moins un liant réticulable réductible dans l'eau comportant des groupes fonctionnels acides et des groupes fonctionnels avec hydrogène actif, B) au moins un agent de réticulation polyisocyanate avec groupes isocyanate libres, C) de l'eau et éventuellement au moins un solvant organique, lesdits groupes fonctionnels acides dudit liant réductible dans l'eau A) étant au moins partiellement neutralisés avec au moins un agent neutralisant, ledit agent neutralisant comprenant une monoamine contenant un groupe amino secondaire fixé à un atome de carbone tertiaire, ladite monoamine étant de préférence un produit réactionnel d'au moins une monoamine contenant un groupe amino primaire fixé à un atome de carbone tertiaire et un mono-époxyde, ou un produit réactionnel d'au moins une monoamine contenant un groupe amino primaire fixé à un atome de carbone tertiaire et un composé monoinsaturé.
