The disclosed embodiments provide a system that facilitates management of a financial transaction. During operation, the system obtains transaction data for the financial transaction between a user and an organization from a Short Message Service (SMS) notification on an electronic device of the user. Next, the system determines a category of the financial transaction based on the transaction data. The system also displays the transaction data and the category on the electronic device. Finally, the system uses the displayed transaction data and the displayed category to enable, for the user, management of the financial transaction without accessing the transaction data at the organization. La présente invention, selon des modes de réalisation, concerne un système qui facilite la gestion d'une transaction financière. Pendant l'opération, le système obtient des données de transaction de la transaction financière entre un utilisateur et une organisation à partir d'une notification de service de message court (SMS) sur un dispositif électronique de l'utilisateur. Puis, le système détermine une catégorie de la transaction financière sur la base des données de transaction. Le système affiche en outre les données de transaction et la catégorie sur le dispositif électronique. Enfin, le système utilise les données de transaction affichées et la catégorie affichée pour permettre à l'utilisateur de gérer la transaction financière sans avoir accès aux données de transaction au niveau de l'organisation.
