Thus, the trestle may comprise two half-trestles (10, 20), each comprising two hinged frames (1, 11) topped by a horizontal support member (2, 12) providing part of the work-surface, those half trestles (10, 20) being connected by adjustable, such as slideable, connecting means (3). La présente invention se rapporte à un chevalet de sciage qui présente une surface de travail discontinue qui est ajustable de sorte à offrir une ouverture variable entre des parties respectives (2, 12) de la surface de travail. Ainsi, le chevalet peut comprendre deux demi-chevalets (10, 20), chaque demi-chevalet comprenant deux cadres articulés (1, 11) couverts par un élément de support horizontal (2, 12) constituant une partie de la surface de travail, ces deux demi-chevalets (10, 20) étant raccordés par un moyen de raccordement (3) ajustable qui peut, par exemple, coulisser.
