The present invention relates to a novel composition comprising danielone and derivatives thereof as well as to the use of such compositions in skin lightening. More particularly, the present invention relates to danielone and derivatives thereof for use in topical compositions for smoothening skin color irregularities, for reducing melanin formation in the human skin, for lightening/brightening human skin and/or for treatment of pigmentation disorders which comprises topically administering an effective amount of danielone and derivatives thereof to the appropriate skin area of a person in need of such beautifying agent, or treatment. La présente invention concerne une nouvelle composition comprenant de la danielone et ses dérivés, ainsi que l'utilisation de telles compositions pour éclaircir la peau. L'invention concerne plus particulièrement la danielone et ses dérivés, à utiliser dans des compositions topiques pour atténuer des irrégularités de coloration de la peau, réduire la formation de mélanine dans la peau humaine, éclaircir/blanchir la peau humaine et/ou traiter des troubles de la pigmentation, par administration topique d'une quantité efficace de danielone et de ses dérivés sur la zone concernée de la peau d'une personne nécessitant un tel agent embellissant ou un tel traitement.
